Bio
What can I tell you about myself? Much as I claim to want to have a plain, boring existence, I don’t. My life is full and vibrant and I’ve been described as vivid, unique, and intense. I see myself as normal.
I was born in Norwich, Connecticut, but my family moved to Meriden, Connecticut, six months later. My father was a psychiatrist and director of a state hospital so we lived on the hospital grounds. My mother was a pharmacist but she ‘retired’ to homemaker when she married my father. Both my parents are from Italy and are very traditional.
We moved to Higganum, Connecticut, when I was in fourth grade, and stayed there for the rest of my youth. I attended Haddam Elementary, Independent Day School, Mercy High School, and Connecticut College where I majored in Zoology with a specialization in Genetics and Molecular Biology and had enough courses for a minor in Religious Studies. I then went to graduate school at Rutgers University where I studied entomology, biochemistry, molecular genetics, and immunology. While there I became a part-time lecturer and taught biology, entomology, and human sexuality.
I always enjoyed writing but it took many years to develop a style that was easy to read, engaging, and not overly technical. You will find, however, that all the details in my stories are accurate and can assume that they have been heavily researched. Science training is good for something!
I currently live with my husband and two children in the wonderful city of Verona, Wisconsin, and spend my time parenting and writing. I also love to travel and have several travel books in the works. Both my children also love to write and I’m encouraging them to develop their stories!
